Click-through rate or CTR is a percentage that shows from people who viewed our link organically, how many of them actually clicked on our website link.
The way to calculate it is to divide the number of times it was clicked on our link by the number of times the link was viewed (impressions) and multiply by 100.
example:
- Impression = 9000
- number of times people clicked on our website link = 350
Click-through rate = (350/9000)x100= 3.88%
What we can learn from CTR?
This number is significant since it shows how successful our SEO is. If we have a very low percentage, many people see our link but are not convinced to click on it.
In this case, you need to work on the page title, and mostly the description of your web page.
But this number is not just for organic link clicked but also for ads as well with the same definition. In order to know if your ad is working well, you must increase this percentage.
